Friday, July 10, 2009

Summary:

A young middle school girl stares out at the diaster before her, talking about how she hates her city, her house and parents, she had enough. Everything should break.

The story character is named Onozawa Mirai, a young middle school student who is always loaded with responiblities because of her parents work. Because of this, she has become rebellious and writes little journal entries on her phone.
As it happens, it's her mother's birthday, and her little brother Yuuki was eager and hoped to give his card to their mother, only in the end, didn't get to. After seeing a picture on the Mirai's desk, Yuuki comes up with an idea and the next morning he asks if he could go to a Robot exhibition.
And off to the Robot exhibition they went. At first Mirai was absolutely bored, but then quickly became estatic when she was able to play around with a robot, but the excitement didn't last long when a mother with a child complained that she was taking too long.
Later, Yuuki decides that they should buy their mother a gift. At the gift shop they meet a woman that they had walked past earlier on their way to the exhibition, who had taken the item they wanted only to generously give it back to them claimming that she was too old for it, even though Mirai refused her, but in the end her little brother accepted it.

Before heading home, Yuuki had to go to the washroom. Mirai told him that she'll be waiting outside, only to be run into by a little kid with icecream, which was stuck to the back of her skirt.
In the bathroom after cleanning her skirt up, Mirai expresses her frustration about how everything makes her angry. Then, while typing on her phone, she wonders if anything good would happen in her life, how she had enough, everything's such a bother, everything should just break...
Right on the cue, the city starts shaking, building collasping, bridges and sidewalks are caving in...
And Yuuki, is nowhere to be seen.

--------First Impression-------

I absolutely loved this episode! I had goosebumps from the moment the episode started knowing that diaster was to strike eventually.
I think the plot of having a parents complex for Mirai will help develop her character in the long run, and would probably make her cherish and live out her life in the future. (
That is if her parents are alive, we don't know *shrugs*)

The earthquake was, wow - what a timing when she said, "I wish everything would break." It also can be considered as, Be careful what you wish for, reminder lesson.

But but but....*
looks all teary* WHAT ABOUT HER BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD! HE HAS TO LIVE! OR ELSE I'M GOING TO CRY~!!!!! (Hell I always cry for these things)
It'd just suck (
for me) to not have him. But I'm pretty sure he'll miraculiously be alive. Probably thanks to that woman (that literally been foreshadowing throughout the entire episode).

The opening and the ending were both well done. I really loved the opening, it was so different, so unique. The ED was great too. As expected from
BONES, they are definitely on the right track with this production - after all, it's their ORIGINAL one too. :D *coughunlikeKyoAnicough*

As for the next episode, we get no preview except that the disaster, 8.0 Magnitude.
We'll be seeing more of how Mirai keeps herself alive, and hopefully she'll find her brother.
Though recalling the mall collapsing behind her...oh god, I'm afraid to think what happened.
But then again (
remember how she asked her brother to get her a drink?), I'm pretty sure (hoping) that when Yuuki went to get something for them to drink, that the woman was there and the two of them escaped (just barely) ^_^
I'll pat myself on the shoulder if I'm right.
And if he's dead.
Well expect me to be mourning him. I already loved that kid.
